About Us

Being a voice for the voiceless and bringing healing to the broken and abused are those heart-tugs that keep me awake at night. They are what God uses to refuse to allow me to live a mediocre life or do anything that is void of purpose or meaning.

Ever since my early teens, I knew God's call for my life was ministry. I grew up in a family that was deeply involved in overseas missions and would travel to Central America a lot, sometimes for several months out of the year.
In 2014, I spent a year serving with a widows and orphans helps ministry in Guatemala, which was already my second home. During my extended time there, my language skills and understanding of culture grew and refined and it didn't take long before it felt like home more than the U.S. It was hard to leave but at the end of that year, I knew God was calling me on.
Before leaving Guatemala in 2015, through a visiting team, I received a connection to move to the Dominican Republic to help establish a new project for an anti-trafficking organization that focused on rescuing, restoring, and reintegrating teen girls. I loved working in the anti-trafficking world, helping establish a solid aftercare program for victims of sexual exploitation that can be implemented cross-culturally, and sharing the unconditional, unfailing love of Christ with the precious girls who entered into our care.
Early in 2017, I married the tall, dark, handsome man of my dreams, known also as Miguel Terrero, and knew that it was time to take a step back, for the time being, from the intensity of what my life had become and focus on establishing a solid foundation for our marriage. Miguel was serving with Fellowship of Christian Athletes in the DR, discipling coaches and athletes on the baseball fields and transitioning into the role of a regional director when we got married. When they offered me the job of administrative assistant, it didn't take us very long to know that, for now, this was God's answer to our desire of working in ministry together.
In 2020, as Miguel stepped into the position of director for all of FCA DR, I continue to oversee administration and communication for the organization while raising our son, Kai. We play an active role in our local church and are passionate about connecting people to local church through ministry efforts. I have also helped several other organizations working with women at risk or directly affected by trafficking, as time has permitted - I hope to one day return to that kind of ministry full-time but am currently fully embracing the season of motherhood.

There are so many details that come along with carrying out the call of Christ to go and make disciples of all nations. This blog is our way of sharing stories of what God does in our own lives and the crazy twists and turns He takes us on.
